The hard work of three Newman University faculty members has recently come to fruition with the publication of textbooks they co-authored in their respective fields. Professor of Chemistry David Shubert, Ph.D. and Associate Professor of Chemistry John Leyba, Ph.D. co-authored Chemistry and Physics for Anesthesia: A Student Centered Approach. The book, which was published by Springer Publishing, is already being used in the nurse anesthesia programs at Duke University, the Medical University of South Carolina and Newman.

Assistant Professor Barry Koch, Ph.D. of the Master of Social Work Program in Colorado Springs, Colo., has co-authored a textbook entitled Guide to Psychoanalytic Developmental Theories, which was recently released by Springer Science+Business Media. The book was co-authored by Joe Palombo, founder of the Institute For Clinical Social Work in Chicago, and Harold Bendicsen, adjunct faculty at Loyola University Chicago School of Social Work.
