February represents Heritage Month at Newman University — a chance to celebrate the founders of Newman, the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC), namesake Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman and Catholic tradition.

The Newman campus honored the feast days of St. Brigid, St. Maria De Mattias — founder of the ASC — and Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman.

The Newman Athletics Hall of Fame reception, game and awards banquet took place along with a pep rally to encourage high spirits for Homecoming.

High Tea welcomed all to enjoy the free, long-standing tradition and social event featuring English tea, finger sandwiches and delectable desserts.

Feb. 21 was jam-packed with events including the Cardinal Newman Mass, the men’s and women’s basketball games, coronation of the Homecoming king and queen and an after-party hosted by Student Life.

The month rounded off with the annual Difference Makers for Wichita banquet and the theater department’s production of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.”
