Greetings from Newman’s President of National Alumni Board: Michael Eck
Dear Fellow Jets,
It is an honor to greet you for the first time as president of the Newman University National Alumni Board. After serving the past two years as vice president, I am excited to take on this new role and continue working to strengthen the connection between our alumni and our beloved alma mater.

Newman University has played such a meaningful role in my life — both on and off the court. As a former basketball player, I experienced firsthand the values of teamwork, perseverance and dedication. Those lessons, and the friendships formed here, have stayed with me through every season of life.
Our alumni community is one of Newman’s greatest strengths. Each of us carries a unique story and a shared pride in being Jets. Whether you connect through cheering on the Jets at a game (Go Jets!), attending a performance in DeMattias Fine Arts Center, volunteering at an alumni event, mentoring current students or contributing to a program or cause close to your heart — your engagement matters. Every interaction helps keep the Newman spirit thriving for generations to come.
As we move forward together, I invite you to find the ways that work best for you to stay connected. Your involvement, big or small, makes a real difference in the lives of our students and in the future of our university.
Thank you for your continued support, enthusiasm and pride in Newman University. I look forward to meeting many of you at events in the coming year and celebrating all that it means to be a Jet.
With gratitude and Jet pride,
Michael Eck ’03
President, Newman University National Alumni Board
